About Nomadic Moments

Jake Moments Beyond

Hi. We are Jake and Jennifer, avid adventurers who love to travel. The world is a beautiful place and we want to help inspire others to get out and explore it. The stories you read and the images you see on this site are from our first-person explorations. These are our nomadic moments. The moments we have been fortunate enough to experience and capture. We hope that you receive inspiration from our adventures and photography. Get out there and explore this amazing place we call earth for yourself.

A Passion for Travel & Photography

Shortly after graduating from high school, my buddies and I set out on a road trip across the country from Tennessee to where the Dalton Highway crosses the  Arctic Circle in Alaska. Ten thousand miles and a lot of photos later, I was hooked on travel and photography. I spent my college years planning the next road trip.

A Passion for Cultures

The last summer in college I went overseas for the first time and spent 10 days seeing some of the most horrifying living conditions in Kenya’s Kibera slum and the unparalleled beauty of Africa’s wildlife and scenery. This time I was hooked on experiencing the cultures and places in this world that America is far too often blind to.

My Wife and I Love Colorado

The very next summer I met my future wife and once we were married a big part of our lives became about our next adventure together. We ended up in Colorado where adventure and exploration is a cultural way of life. Colorado fit us perfectly, but we still took every opportunity we could get to hit the road or travel overseas. We are blessed to have been to so many places and to have had so many moments to share, but this world is a big, beautiful, heartbreaking, breathtaking place and I want to experience every one of those places in detailed moments and attempt to share them with you.

I so agree. Photos do have the ability to capture (and evoke) emotions. You take great photos.

Eureka! Planning my third trip to the Canadian Rockies and came across your blog. Many of your guides are about places I have on my to do list as well as a good number that I want to return to. I see that you also share my love of Colorado as well. Can’t wait to get into your site in more depth but it’s time to hit the rack.
